2021 Days of Caring Events

Food Packing Day — April 7, 2021

Help us as we package 15,000 meals for the food pantries of Greater Nashua. Donations tend to decline after the holiday season and with Covid19 many families who rely on school lunch programs need to find alternatives, this event produces food for emergency reserves during the difficult spring and summer months. The food produced is developed to be highly nutritious but still very appealing to children. The Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal, Macaroni & Cheese, and Minestrone Soup are made to make a big difference in ending hunger, and don’t they sound great?!

Community Farming Day — August 24th-25th, 2021

Building food access in the community with an emphasis on creating sustainable farming and gardening spaces. Annually, we partner with Grow Nashua to increase food growing capacity. Last year we built a new food space at Dr. Crisp Elementary School. Check out some photos from the event HERE!

Community Baby Shower – October 5th, 2021

The UWGN’s Annual Community Baby Shower is an exciting event to help low income, expecting parents in Greater Nashua. These new moms and dads will receive educational resources, a celebration with other new parents and baby necessities to help them get started with the new addition to their family!

The Sleep Out — United We Sleep – November 12-13, 2021

Thanks also to Liberty Utilities for supporting this event at the Superhero Level. This is an experiential event bringing the community together to discuss and become more aware about the issues of extreme poverty and homelessness. Participants learn from community experts and then sleep overnight in front of the Nashua Community College. Click here to register for this event!

The Shoe Box Project for Seniors  – February, 2022

Our annual shoebox project is a community collection to put together important resources for seniors. Each year we have a different theme and create care packages which are distributed through our partners, Meals on Wheels, The Caregivers, and Gateways Community Services. This year’s theme is “Healthy Heart Filled with Love,” focusing on items which keep our seniors’ hearts strong and feeling cared for.
