Collection Drives

Volunteer

Community Food Drives –Each Saturday from 10am to 1pm (12pm to 3pm during cold months) volunteers from all walks of life come together to collect donations of food and hygiene items from shoppers at some of our local supermarkets. The donations collected are given to a different local food pantry each week. Pantries receiving donations include Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, the Salvation Army, Corpus Christi Food Pantry, End 68 Hours of Hunger, St. Joseph Hospital Employee Food Pantry, among others. Volunteers can register to help HERE.

Rosie’s Pantry Drives – On the second Sunday of each month from10am -1pm (12pm to 3pm during cold months) United Way volunteers collect donations of menstrual supplies at Hannaford supermarket in Nashua. These supplies will be used to stock Rosie’s Pantry – a free women’s hygiene pantry located at Girls Inc. in Nashua. Those interested in volunteering may sign up HERE.

Kit Packing Projects – We would love to work with your company, faith community, scout troop, or group of friends to pack kits for our neighbors in need. Groups working on this type of kit packing will raise funds to purchase supplies for the kits and come together at the United Way office or another location to put the kits together. Types of kits for groups to work on are: women’s hygiene kits, men’s hygiene kits, senior women’s hygiene kits, school supplies kits, and kits for people experiencing homelessness.

Shoebox Project — JANUARY ONLY – Each January, we collect small gifts and personal care items for local seniors living alone. This is a wonderful group project to brighten someone’s winter season.

Diapers and Baby Items – Diapers, wipes, and baby essentials are always needed. We especially collect these items during March and April as part of our Community Baby Shower.

School Supplies – Help local students start the year ready to learn! We collect new and gently used school supplies year-round, and especially before the new school year begins.

Laptop Collection and Repair – Do you have an old laptop collecting dust? United Way of Greater Nashua will accept working older laptops for use by children attending school in the Greater Nashua area. All donated laptops will be cleared of data by United Way volunteers.
