Pop-Up Pantries Move Indoors for the Winter Season
NASHUA, NH – Beginning the week of November 3, the Pop-Up Pantries organized by the United Way of Greater Nashua will transition to their indoor winter locations. This move ensures that the vital food distribution program can continue serving local residents comfortably and safely throughout the colder months.
Since their launch on April 7, 2020, the Pop-Up Pantries have served a remarkable 43,475 clients, underscoring their vital role in addressing food insecurity in the region.
Recent data indicates that food insecurity has been on the rise in New Hampshire. According to a 2024 report by Feeding America, approximately 135,200 New Hampshire residents, or roughly 10% of the population, experience food insecurity. Additionally, 13.4% of children in the state are affected by food insecurity (nofanh.org).
The Pop-Up Pantries operate at various locations throughout Nashua every weekday, ensuring that residents have convenient access to essential groceries, including fresh produce and meats. Food is sourced from the local nonprofit Regenerative Roots, which builds resilient communities through sustainable food practices, as well as from weekly United Way food drives at local supermarkets. Dedicated volunteers, many of whom have been with the program since its inception, work tirelessly to distribute these resources to the community.
The indoor Pop-Up Pantry schedule beginning the week of November 3 is as follows:
- Mondays: Harbor Care – 45 High Street
- Tuesdays: Girls Inc. – 27 Burke Street
- Wednesdays: Arlington Street Community Center – 36 Arlington Street
- Thursdays: Nashua Community Music School – 2 Lock Street
- Fridays: Crossway Christian Church – 33 Pine Street
All Pop-Up Pantries run from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In addition to the Pop-Up Pantries, several local organizations—including Tolles Street Mission, Corpus Christi Food Pantry, Southern NH Rescue Mission, Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, and the Salvation Army—continue to provide essential support to residents facing food insecurity. The United Way of Greater Nashua also coordinates weekly food drives to bolster these efforts and welcomes volunteers to participate in collection initiatives.

Nonperishable food donations are accepted at the United Way of Greater Nashua office, located at 20 Broad Street in Nashua, on weekdays between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
