Volunteers Needed for “Over the Edge” Fundraiser Benefiting 20+ NH Nonprofits
Manchester, NH — United Way of Greater Nashua is calling on community members to step up and volunteer for this year’s Over the Edge event, a high-adrenaline fundraiser where participants rappel down the 24-story Brady Sullivan Tower — the second tallest building in New Hampshire — to raise money for nonprofit organizations across the state.
Taking place on Saturday, June 24, Over the Edge supports more than 20 nonprofits, each of which receives direct funding from their participants’ fundraising efforts. It’s a bold and unforgettable way to support critical causes — and volunteers are essential to making it all happen.
United Way is especially seeking Ropes Volunteers, who work alongside professional riggers to assist rappelers and ensure their safety throughout the event. Volunteers must be 18 or older, available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on June 24, and attend a mandatory training session from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Friday, June 23. No prior experience is required — full training is provided by certified experts.
“Our Ropes Volunteers are key to the heart of this event,” said Mike Apfelberg, President of United Way of Greater Nashua. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime way to be part of something meaningful and exciting — all while helping raise vital funds for nonprofits serving communities across New Hampshire.”
In addition to Ropes Volunteers, the event also needs support in roles such as check-in, gear handling, t-shirt distribution, hospitality, and other logistics. Volunteers of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome, and group sign-ups are encouraged.
