Horsing Around at Touchstone Farm (Previously Gleaning United)
Join us for a fun and meaningful volunteer morning at Touchstone Farm, a therapeutic riding nonprofit that provides life-changing experiences for children and adults. Volunteers will help the farm prepare for winter by contributing to a variety of hands-on projects:
-
Cleaning up the gardens for winter (nippers recommended)
-
Thinning out the lending library
-
Thinning out the lending closet
-
Cleaning windows and mirrors
-
Cleaning paddocks (a physically demanding task involving shoveling manure)
Originally, we had planned a Gleaning United apple-picking event, but that location became unavailable this year. This alternative opportunity at Touchstone Farm is just as impactful, helping the organization manage increased costs for horse supplies and maintain a welcoming environment for their participants.
We are grateful for all the support helping Touchstone Farm get ready for winter!
