Little Free Pantry
United Way of Greater Nashua is thrilled to announce their new “Little Free Pantry” – a shed stocked with free nonperishable items open to the public 24 hours a day. The pantry is located outside Crossway Christan Church at 33 Pine Street in Nashua.
The pantry was designed with the idea that people experiencing food insecurity will be able to pick up free nonperishables and hygiene items at any time of day. The pantry is a small shed built by the Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity, painted with colorful designs by Positive Street Art, with the shelving built by a United Way volunteer.
The motto of this “Little Free Pantry” is “take what you need, leave what you can”.
United Way volunteers will be stocking the shed with donations received at their weekly food drives at local supermarkets. The schedule of Food Drives may be found here: ww.tinyurl.com/uwgnfooddrives.
Anyone who would like to drop off their own donations is welcome to leave donations in the shed and is encouraged to put their donations on the shelves. Only food in cans and jars can be accepted due to potential problems with rodents. All types of hygiene items are accepted and can openers are always welcome.
