Digital Empowerment Breakfast – Scam Detective Workshop
Digital Empowerment Breakfast: Scam Detective Workshop
The Digital Empowerment Breakfast Series is a quarterly program designed for social workers, case managers, nonprofit staff, healthcare professionals, and other community-based service providers who help clients navigate today’s digital world.
Our first session, Scam Detective Workshop, will focus on scam and fraud prevention.
The workshop will begin with a presentation by Derek Ibell, of the Nashua Police Department, on current scam and fraud trends affecting community members. Participants will then work through interactive activities and case studies designed to help them identify red flags, understand common scam tactics, and develop strategies for supporting clients who may be at risk.
Topics include:
- Phone scams
- Text message scams
- Phishing emails
- Financial scams
- AI-enabled scams and impersonation fraud
- Resources available for clients who need help
Throughout the event, participants will also learn about local digital literacy resources, including Digital Navigator services and programs offered through Nashua Public Library.
Breakfast will be provided.
