Coffee and Causes: Future of Elder Care in New Hampshire

Nashua, NH – April 8, 2024 – United Way of Greater Nashua invites the community to its upcoming “Coffee and Causes” talk, focusing on the future of elder care in New Hampshire. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, hosted in the Carl Amelio Room.

With the older adult population in America on the rise, ensuring that infrastructure can accommodate their diverse needs is paramount. However, in many regions, including New Hampshire, current systems are struggling to keep pace. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the efforts of the NH State Commission on Aging and other supporting organizations as they develop a Multisector Plan for Aging tailored to the state’s unique characteristics.

Participants will discover avenues through which they can contribute and make a meaningful impact on the future of elder care in their communities. Additionally, representatives from St. Joseph Hospital will provide valuable insights into their Behavioral Health Unit, addressing key topics such as referral processes, intake procedures, staffing, and length of stay. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions to facilitate an interactive and informative discussion.

Sara Ceaser, Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement at United Way of Greater Nashua, expressed enthusiasm about the event: “We believe that by fostering discussions like these, we can work towards creating a more supportive environment for older adults in our community. Your participation is crucial in shaping the future of elder care in New Hampshire.”
