Coffee and Causes: Monthly Talks for Seniors

United Way of Greater Nashua is thrilled to be re-starting their monthly “Coffee and Causes” talks for seniors this September 8th.

United Way would like to invite seniors (and those who support them) to join them on Friday, September 8th at the Nashua Senior Activity Center at 10:30am for a conversation with representatives from the NH Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services (BEAS) about the 2024 – 2027 New Hampshire State Plan on Aging.

The State Plan on Aging is part of a statewide outreach effort to improve BEAS’s understanding of the needs of people who are aging in New Hampshire. Some of the topics covered will be:

  • Advancing Equity
  • Building a Caregiver Infrastructure
  • Expanding Access to Home and Community Based Services
  • Recovering from the COVID 19 Pandemic
  • Supporting Older Americans Act Core Programs

ServiceLink, a division of BEAS, which is housed at the Nashua Senior Activity Center, will also speak. They will provide information about their services, which include the NH Caregiver Support Program, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, Senior Medicare Patrol Program, and Assistive Technology. They also offer referrals to services for seniors.

Coffee and other refreshments will be available.

Future talks will take place at various locations around the area and will include topics like Advocacy, Veterans’ Services, Loneliness and Depression, Falls Prevention, and Talking to your Doctor.
