United Way Community Food Drive and Women’s Hygiene Supplies Drive
NASHUA, NH – If you have two hours to spare on a Saturday or Sunday, United Way of Greater Nashua would love your help at a Community Food Drive or Women’s Hygiene Supplies Drive!
United Way’s weekly Food Drives take place at stores all around the Greater Nashua area and supply pantries that serve the community in which that week’s store is located. Volunteers ask interested shoppers to consider purchasing extra items to donate.
United Way’s food drives can generate up to 300 pounds of food per drive – the equivalent of 360 meals. Support from volunteers and donors makes a huge difference to people in our community who rely on food supports from our local pantries.
Thanks to the community’s generosity at the Women’s Hygiene Supply Drives, United Way is not only able to supply their (free and open to the public) Rosie’s Pantry cabinet at Girls Inc. Nashua with hygiene items, but they are also able to supply cabinets at Mount Pleasant and Ledge Street Elementary Schools, Pennichuck Middle School, Nashua High South, and Clearway High School.
Some of the schools served have requested items not donated at drives – like leggings, underwear, laundry supplies, and the book The Care and Keeping of You – all of which United Way has been able to purchase using monitory donations received at Women’s Hygiene Supply Drives. Women’s Hygiene Supply Drives take place at Hannaford in Nashua on the second Sunday of each month and at Hannaford in Hudson on the third Sunday of each month.
Shifts for both types of drives are 10am to 12pm or 12pm to 2pm.
