Amazon Donates Cold Weather Gear To Support Those Less Fortunate

Amazon donates cold weather gear to support those less fortunate

In a move to support local low-income residents this winter, Amazon has generated $7,500 worth of cold weather gear to United Way of Greater Nashua. The donation, which includes such items as snow pants, mittens, scarves, and jackets, comes just in time to help the community get through a tough New England Winter.

United Way is partnering with local agencies such as the Salvation Army, Milford SHARE, and the Tolles Street Mission to ensure that the gear gets to people experiencing homelessness.

According to representatives from the company, “At Amazon, we care about the people in our community. We are responsible for delivering smiles to all of our customers, this was an opportunity to deliver smiles in a different way by helping out the homeless community during these cold winter months. New England winters can get extremely cold, providing these supplies will keep our community members warm who find themselves in a tough situation. We are working hard to make an impact in our community and this is one the ways we felt was an important step.”

According to United Way President Mike Apfelberg, “This year, more than any in recent memory, we are seeing people experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness. With the tough New England Winter here, we are so grateful to Amazon for their amazing generosity to our community. This apparel could quite literally save lives. We are deeply deeply appreciative to Amazon for this tremendous gift.”
