United Way of Greater Nashua Donates $7K in Gift Cards to Local Healthcare Heroes

On December 22, representatives of the United Way of Greater Nashua presented St. Joseph Hospital and Southern New Hampshire Health each with 350 gift cards to local eateries to support their frontline Healthcare Heroes. The program is the result of a fundraiser in which the community donated $7,000 to support nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, technicians, and others actively on the frontlines of fighting the COVID pandemic. As a result of the community’s generosity, these gift cards were purchased from 15 different small local eateries like Main Street Gyro, Mr. Macs, and SuzZero Ice Cream. The cards will be distributed to hospital employees just in time for the holidays a morale booster during these difficult times. According to UW President Mike Apfelberg, “We love this program, because it supports our local businesses, which are struggling right now, and gives a big morale boost to our Healthcare Heroes, who are on the front lines of keeping our community safe.”
