United Way’s Smart Start Coalition Presents: A Day of Support, Supplies, and Strategies for Early Childhood Professionals
Nashua, NH — United Way of Greater Nashua’s Smart Start Coalition, led by Liz Fitzgerald, invites local teachers, childcare providers, and anyone who works with young children to a free community event focused on supporting the professionals who support our youngest learners.
Taking place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at United Way of Greater Nashua (20 Broad Street), the event includes an open house, free dinner, and a dynamic training session led by nationally recognized behavior consultant Megg Thompson.
“We’re thrilled to bring together those who care for and teach our youngest children,” said Liz Fitzgerald. “This event is all about giving back to our educators and caregivers—with practical tools, resources, appreciation, and inspiration.”
Event Details:
Open House (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM):
Attendees are invited to tour the School Supply Pantry, connect with local community resources, enjoy light refreshments, and choose free classroom supplies. Everyone will receive a special goody bag as a thank-you gift, and will have the chance to win one of five exciting raffle baskets.
Dinner (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
A complimentary dinner will be served for all registered participants attending the training.
Professional Development Session (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM):
Led by Megg Thompson, this engaging, two-hour session titled “Teamwork and Addressing Challenging Behaviors” offers tools and strategies for working with children in a proactive, strength-based way. Known for her humor and heart, Megg shares real stories and behavior techniques rooted in love and understanding. Attendees will earn 2 hours of professional development/CEUs.
