Nashua Public Library Volunteer Fair

NASHUA – Are you interested in volunteering with a local nonprofit but are unsure where your skills could be best used? On May 18th from 4pm to 7pm United Way of Greater Nashua and the Nashua Public Library are partnering for the first time since June 2019 to bring together 40 nonprofits who are looking for help from the community.

The missions of the attending nonprofits range from land stewardship to youth mentorship to building homes and bike repair. United Way and the Nashua Public Library are pleased to welcome organizations such as Grow Nashua, who creates gardening opportunities for people living in downtown Nashua, The CareGivers who need drivers to deliver food to homebound people, and the Girl Scouts who are looking for leaders and camp counselors. Representatives from these organizations and many others will be available to answer questions and provide information about volunteering with their respective organizations.

United Way of Greater Nashua will be on site to talk about their volunteer-based projects – like tutoring students, Pop-Up Food Pantries, Food Drives, and Women’s Hygiene Supply Drives.

The Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair will take place on Thursday, May 18th from 4pm to 7pm in the Chandler Wing of the Nashua Public Library at 2 Court Street in Nashua. The public is invited to browse the fair and chat with agency staff and volunteers about what their organizations do and how volunteers can help.

With many area schools requiring service hours for their students, and with the influx of new residents in the Greater Nashua area seeking ways to engage with their new communities, these organizations offer a variety of opportunities to serve as volunteers in specific areas of interest and to learn more about the region’s needs.

The goal of the Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair is to support nonprofit organizations and help individuals find meaningful ways to give back to the community. If you enjoy working with children or seniors, indoors or outdoors, hands on activities or a collaborative think-tank atmosphere, there is a volunteer opportunity for you right here in our community.
